Disable System Restore via Group Policy
Navigate to:
1) Computer Configuration
2) Administrative Templates
3) System
4) System Restore
5) Double click turn off system restore
6) Click enabled and click OK

By the way, if your network has been hot by a virus such as conficker, it will delete all restore points so it is best that it is disabled following the instructions.
I’ve been looking for a way to do this today – found this post, thanks
